End of School Year Memento – Teachers Sign Dr Seuss’s “Oh, the Places You’ll Go” Over the Years

Today was Lily’s last day of preschool.  There is a small graduation ceremony tomorrow night and then next year she’s off to pre-k.  I am happy to report that I actually remembered to continue this tradition, which I just started last year.  I am brushing off my post and re-sharing it with you in case you haven’t seen it before.

Several years ago, a friend mentioned this tradition to me. I thought it sounded like the sweetest idea, and as Lily Bean closed out her very first year of preschool last month, I got the ball rolling.

I picked up a copy of Oh, the Places You’ll Go by Dr. Seuss.

At the end of the school year, I left the book with Lily’s teachers and asked them to sign the inside cover for her.

My goal is to have her teachers sign this same book every single year (and can include other important coaches, mentors, etc as needed). I will then gift the book to her at her high school graduation. (Which of course I don’t even want to THINK about because she’s only 3 and time already feels like it’s flying.)

Her teacher and teacher’s assistant wrote the nicest little notes to her, including a couple of their favorite memories of Lily.

This is the sweetest!
