How to Make Chocolate Covered Pretzels and Oreos

Chocolate Covered Pretzels and Oreos collag-001

Chocolate makes just about anything taste better, in my humble opinion.  This week I treated myself to the Wilton Chocolate Pro and today I had the first chance to give it a whirl.  The neat thing about this contraption is that it eliminates the (annoying) need to heat and reheat chocolate as you work with it.  It works just like a crock pot (that’s essentially exactly what it is) – there are two settings, one for the initial melting and another to keep the melted chocolate warm.

The goal today was to coat some pretzel sticks and Oreos with white chocolate – then top them with Easter/Spring themed sprinkles.

As I filled the warming pot with white chocolate melts, I gathered the rest of my ingredients.

I would say the chocolate took about 15-20 minutes to fully melt.  Here we go!

Ready to start!

You’re not going to get much more simple than this one: dip – lay- sprinkle – repeat.  Just watch:

Lay –

Repeat!

Process is the exact same for the Oreos.  To give the Oreos some sprinkles on the backside, I shook sprinkles on the wax paper before dipping.  Then I laid the dipped portion of the cookie onto the sprinkle pile and put more sprinkles on the top.

That’s it!

Leave these sitting out to cool off – or pop in the fridge or freezer to speed up the process.  We will be toting these along to our Easter dinner tomorrow!
